He has always been one to use images from his real life to inform what he writes and in this episode he talks what images influenced him most from naked men, to life in the Bronx and where he got the highly stylized dialogue in Moonstruck. 

ARTIST BIO:  

Born in 1950 in the Bronx, John Patrick Shanley is the Academy Award, Tony Award, and Pulitzer Prize winning writer and director behind smash hits such as Doubt and Moonstruck. He has written more than 23 plays and has worked with the likes of Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan, and Tom Hanks through his storied career.
